You’ve got buckthorn? We’ve got goats!
Buckthorn is an invasive species that can be devastating for wildlife and native plant communities. It takes over woodlots and greatly diminishes aesthetics and property values. Fortunately, goats love to eat it!
Our goats have many years of experience helping control their favorite food, and do so without the use of chemicals and heavy equipment.
The principle behind using goats to control invasive brush is to weaken the plant’s root reserves so that the plant dies over winter. To do that, the goats need to defoliate the plant at least twice in a growing season and usually for at least two seasons.
We bring portable electric netting to fence in the goats at your site and can accommodate large and small acreages.
Contact us with any questions or to schedule a consultation. We are happy to come and look at your property to help determine how goats can enhance your natural space.
We are currently serving the Grant, Pope, Douglas, Stevens, and Otter Tail County areas. Thank you!
